Step by Step

The five-day seminar begins with an introduction into the historical and practical dimensions of Buddhism through the ages (day one). Using Tibet as an example, the second day discusses the interaction of politics and religion. Buddhist art and painting will be introduced on day three.

The relationship between science and Buddhism including neuroscience, engineering and creativity will be covered on day four and five. The course concludes by considering the continuation and transformation of Buddhism in the 21st century.

Religion, science, philosophy or meditation system; Buddhism cannot be explained in a few words. Within the main topic ‘Buddhism into the 21st Century’, the historical roots and the meditation practices will be examined, along with the present and future of Buddhism in the Western world. An optional afternoon programme offers stimulating possibilities for further exchange and entertainment.
